Het Scheepvaart huis

Friday 6 September  17.00 - 17.45  A guided tour in "Het Scheepvaart huis" (Hotel Amrâth). amrath hotelHet Scheepvaarthuis was founded by six shipping companies that joined forces in a specially designed joint office building. The building is one of the highlights of the Amsterdam School, and its glass window decorations with world maps are stunning.
Hotel Amrâth is also the hotel where most of our participants will stay.

Map Fair Cocktail Reception - Welcome on board !

around vaart Friday 6 September  18.00 - 19.30  - Don't miss out on our Friday evening 1.5-hour boat tour with a cocktail reception. It is only by reservation and is available for map fair participating dealers and map enthusiasts.
Embarking at 18.00 in front of Hotel Amrâth / Scheepvaart Huis, Prins Hendrikkade 108, 1011AK Amsterdam.

" Navigating with the stars" / Canto Ostinato ligconcert®

around vaart Saturday 7 September  19.30 - 20.00  - Hundreds of stars above you move with the music. Lying down while the roof of the Maritime Museum moves with the music. This intuitive piano game by the piano duo Sandra and Jeroen van Veen is on the central square of the museum.

Hotel reservation

We recommend booking early. September is a busy month for Amsterdam and hotel rooms are cheaper when you book early. Below are a few hotels within a 15-minute distance from the Maritime Museum.
If you like architecture and historic hotels, we recommend the Grand Hotel Amrâth, which provides valet parking in its secure parking garage.
Two other hotels within a 15-minute walk are the hip Rooms25, or you can sleep on the classic Hotel boat.

The Amrâth Hotel

Prins Hendrikkade 108, 1011 AK Amsterdam The Grand Hotel Amrâth is located in the former Shipping House, a decorated monument and an example of the Amsterdam School architecture.
The Amrâth is a 15-minute walk to the Maritime Museum.
Importantly, this hotel provides a secure parking garage with valet parking.

Marine Terrein
Rooms25, also known as "Kanteen," is a boutique hotel tucked away on the Marine Terrain (navel base). Sit back and enjoy watching the action on the water from the waterfront terrace. A 10-minute walk to the Maritime Museum.
Cars are prohibited on the naval base and must be parked in a nearby public garage.

Sleeping on a boat, with a wonderful breakfast. This hotel-boat offers a unique and cost-effective way to experience the charm of Amsterdam. The boat is moored in the picturesque Oosterdok, just a short walk from the Maritime Museum.
