Description
A highly decorative and beautiful print with 139 flags of the sea-faring nations, factions, and trading companies. Among the more interesting flags are those of the Dutch West India Company (G.WC. /Geoctroyeerde Westindische Compagnie) and the Dutch East India Company (V.O.C. / Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie).

An original early 17th century copper engraved miniature antique map of the Dutch province of Gelderland by Petrus Bertius, that was published in Amsterdam at the beginning of the seventeenth century.
