From the Atlas Universel , a detailed map extending the length of the east coast from Penobscot Bay to Cape Fear and, in an inset, from Cape Fear to Fort St.Georges.This state with a dotted border of Treaty of Paris, 1763, with Virginie and Caroline Sept. Et Merid. Extended west to Mississippi. New-Hemp-Shire" and Prov. De Sagadahock" now added.
The Atlas Universel of Gilles and Didier Robert de Vaugondy was first published in 1755. The maps were detailed, precisely engraved and not given to the fanciful cartography being promoted by many of the other contemporary French theorists. This map with the Privilege removed.

Two engravings. [492] Even before Pizarro’s death, a new royal governor, Vaca de Castro, was on his way to settle the turmoil in Peru. He refused to accept Almagro the younger, when he heard he had appointed himself the new governor and summoned his troops for battle. They were later joined by Alonso de Alvarado and by other Pizarrists. This culminated in a bloody battle at Chupas in 1542, near the city of Ayacucho. An interesting small map of France by Nicolas de Fer. From his rare "Petit et Nouveau Atlas". The first edition was published in 1697 and was republished in 1705 and 1723. The finely engraved map is dated 1705 and was engraved by C. Inselin, the same engraver who engraved the maps in de Fer's later Atlas Curieux, published 1700-1705.
