[514] On 29th May, 1615, Spilbergen’s fleet anchored further north, off an island called Santa María that was separated by a narrow stretch of water (A), from Punta Lavapié on the mainland. Four of the ships (I) anchored in the bay, while the fifth (H) anchored closer. A lovely miniature map of the Duchy of Brabant, published by Petrus Bertius, in Amsterdam at the beginning of the seventeenth century. There is a nice, small strap-work title, a little stippled sea, and the map depicts local topography and towns including Mechelen, Breda, Cleve, Maestricht, Cologne, Brussels and Namur.
