Carte de la Guyane Françoise et l'Isle de Cayenne..
A well engraved and highly detailed chart of French Guiana and the island of Cayenne. Made in 1763 by Jacques Bellin (1703-72), a prolific cartographer assigned the Ministry of the French Navy. It shows soundings, anchorage's, channels, shoals, navigational sightings. Engraved by Croisey, engraver for the Depot Générale de la marine is noted as such on the map.

A beautiful map of Paraguay, and parts of Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Bolivia. Much of the area was still "Terra Incognita" so there are few towns and cities shown. The Andes are clearly shown to the west as well as the river systems.The Renaissance cartouche adds a special decorative accent to the map. The small cartouche in the lower right gives the name of the publisher. From early on Willem Jansz. Blaeu aimed of publishing an atlas to compete with the Hondius-Jansson Atlas. By 1630, ...

Fine wood cut bird's-eye view of Marseille. Decorated with several ship in the harbour and on the sea. To the left two keys describing the main buildings and places. Published in "La Cosmographie Universelle de tout le monde", printed in 1575 in Paris by Nicolas Chesneau and Michel Sonnius with the French text by Francois de Belleforest.The book is a French version of Sebastian Münster's "Cosmographia Universalis".
